I think this book explains in very simple terms how weather evolves. I got this book for my 3rd grader and he whizzed right through the entire book in a day and half. He was intrigued by the engaging pictures as well. One thing I would like for National Geographic to do is expanded on some of the topics more so that a child could use it as a reference for a science report. National Geographic is a well-known name and their books are quality products….

Beautiful pictures, full color, and the information my daughter just loves! this is a great book for young readers interested in weather. our daughter has had anxiety about various types of destructive weather ever since learning about hurricane katrina, and then in her own lifetime, hurricane sandy. we thought reading about how weather works would help her get past that. she also got a telescope for christmas so this was a great compliment along with a book about space from this same series, and another book about constellations. definitely a must have for any kid who likes science. my little girl is 1st grader but reading at about a 4th grade level. this book is good for strong readers and for adults to read to their children because the graphics are so vivid and well laid out on the pages. it has a good balance of words and pictures and is well-written. national geographic never disappoints me….
